Factors That May Contribute to the Difference in Crime Statistics Between Texas LTC and Non-LTC Holders

The difference in crime statistics between Texas LTC and non-LTC holders may be attributed to a few factors. For starters, Texas has stringent background checks and eligibility requirements for obtaining an LTC. LTC holders are also required to attend training and educational courses prior to obtaining a license, resulting in a higher level of self-regulation among this group. Additionally, LTC holders may have a greater awareness of the risk of committing a gun-related crime due to the responsibility that comes with owning a firearm.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this article has compared crime statistics between Texas LTC and non-LTC holders for improper relationship between educator/student in 2019. The data shows that LTC holders are less likely to commit a crime than non-LTC holders, likely due to the stringent background checks and eligibility requirements as well as the training and education courses required for obtaining an LTC and the perception of risk and responsibility associated with owning a firearm. The findings of this article may be used to inform public safety policies and help lower the risk of gun-related crime in the state of Texas.
