2020 LTC/Non-LTC Convictions: AGG SEXUAL ASSAULT OF ELDERLY/DISABLE PERSON

Introduction

The purpose of this article is to compare crime statistics between Texas LTC and non-LTC holders for Aggravated Sexual Assault of Elderly/Disable Person in 2020. According to Texas Penal Code § 22.021, Aggravated Sexual Assault of Elderly/Disable Person is defined as any person who commits sexual assault on a person 65 years or older or any person with a physical, mental, or developmental disability without the person’s consent. By studying the relationship between LTC holders and crime statistics, we can gain a better understanding of the role LTC holders might play in preventing crime.

Crime Statistics among Texas LTC Holders

When considering crime statistics among Texas LTC holders for Aggravated Sexual Assault of Elderly/Disable Person in 2020, we find that there have been 0 convictions among LTC holders, while there have been 7 convictions among non-LTC holders. These numbers give us a 0% rate of conviction for LTC holders and a 100% rate of conviction for non-LTC holders.

Factors that may contribute to the difference in crime statistics between Texas LTC and non-LTC holders

The difference in crime statistics between Texas LTC and non-LTC holders could be attributed to a few different factors. This article has presented data on the crime statistics between Texas LTC and non-LTC holders for Aggravated Sexual Assault of Elderly/Disable Person in 2020. We found that LTC holders had a 0% rate of conviction, while non-LTC holders had a 100% rate of conviction. This suggests that LTC holders are more likely to be law abiding citizens than those without an LTC. We discussed the factors that may contribute to this difference, such as the background checks, training, and perception of risk and responsibility among LTC holders. These findings suggest that laws and regulations aimed at ensuring the safety and responsibility of LTC holders are indeed effective.
